Protecting your business: Avoiding Insolvency with Moira Carter
Townsville Chamber CEO Heidi Turner sits down with Moira Carter to discuss how a small business restructure allows eligible businesses to compromise their debts and maximise their chances of trading profitably in the future, while also allowing for business owners to remain in control of their business during the restructuring period. During the COVID period, the Government implemented changes to the insolvency framework for small businesses which were struggling, and since then this Small Business Restructuring has remained as law.About Moira CarterMoira is a registered liquidator and registered trustee in bankruptcy with 29 years experience in the insolvency industry. A principal in the Townsville office, Moira joined the firm in 1995. With extensive local knowledge, she has a sound understanding of the diverse economic challenges particular to North Queensland. While predominantly working with small to medium sized enterprises, her industry experience incorporates managed investment schemes, transport, civil engineering, property and construction, retail and hospitality.
