Submission Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in contributing to the Raising Regions 2025 Transdisciplinary Innovation Conference, presented by the Townsville Chamber of Commerce in partnership with James Cook University.
We are seeking proposals from thought leaders, industry experts, researchers, and practitioners that align with our conference theme and pillars. Please review the guidelines below before submitting your proposal.
Theme
Innovating for a Resilient Future: Harnessing Regional Strengths for Global Impact
Conference Pillars
Submissions should align with one or more of the following thematic pillars:
- Sustainable Futures: Industry and innovation in climate and environment
- Bridging Research and Industry: From knowledge to commercial success
- Evolving Traditional Industries: Adapting for future growth
- Building Capability and Activating Regional Ecosystems
- Critical Infrastructure and Emerging Technologies
Submission Requirements
Presentation Type
Please specify your preferred format:
- Keynote presentation (30-40 minutes)
- Panel discussion (15-20 minutes per panelist)
- Case study presentation (20 minutes)
- Workshop (45-60 minutes, interactive)
Proposal Details
Your proposal must include:
- Title of the presentation/workshop
- Abstract (150-250 words): Clearly explain the focus, relevance to the conference theme, and expected outcomes.
- Key takeaways for participants (2-3 bullet points)
- Target audience (e.g., industry professionals, researchers, policymakers)
- Speaker bio (150 words): Highlight expertise and relevant experience.
Submission Format
- Submit your proposal via the online application form using the link below.
- The ability to attach supporting documents is available.
Additional Information
- Indicate any technical or AV requirements.
- Mention if your submission is part of a collaborative project or research initiative.
- For panel submissions, include names and bios of all panelists.
Selection Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated based on:
- Alignment with the conference theme and pillars
- Relevance and applicability to regional and global innovation challenges
- Originality and clarity of ideas
- Engagement and interactivity of the proposed format
Submission Deadline
All submissions must be received by Monday 31st March 2025. Late submissions may not be considered.

Notification of Acceptance
Accepted submissions will be notified by Monday 28th April If selected, you will receive further details regarding scheduling, technical requirements, and event logistics.
