We are currently seeking passionate and experienced individuals to join our Board of Directors.

The Townsville Chamber of Commerce, a dynamic and progressive not-for-profit membership organisation in Queensland, is currently seeking passionate and experienced individuals to join our Board of Directors.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to shape the future of the business community in Townsville and to help businesses from sole-traders to multinationals to thrive in our region.

Our strategic focus is on reducing unfair costs and barriers to participation in regional Australia, reducing workforce challenges and raising the region through capability, capacity and connection.

To ensure that we have adequate board diversity and expertise we are looking for industry experts in the following sectors:

Mining and Resources
Critical Minerals
Green energy
Construction and Development
Small Business Ownership (Retail or Hospitality)
Real Estate
Critical technologies
Emerging Industries
Manufacturing

We are looking for:

Community Leaders: Professionals who are deeply engaged in the Townsville community and have a strong understanding of its economic landscape.

Strategic Thinkers: Individuals who can contribute to long-term planning and help steer the Chamber towards its strategic goals.

Diversity in life experiences: Individuals that bring a diverse perspectives on inclusivity and lived experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Attend and actively participate in board meetings.
Contribute to the development and oversight of the Chamber’s strategic direction.
Advocate for the Chamber and its members within the community and your industry sector.
